Victoria Escuer ’26: From WPI Student to Accenture Consultant

When Victoria Escuer arrived at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in August 2022, she had a clear goal: build a strong foundation for her future career. Over the next four years, while pursuing a BS in Industrial Engineering and an MS in Information Technology, she became a familiar presence at the Heebner Career Development Center (HCDC)—first as a front desk student worker, and later as a dedicated and proactive user of its resources.

Victoria took full advantage of everything the HCDC had to offer. Through resume reviews, one-on-one advising appointments, and intensive interview preparation, she sharpened her elevator pitch, learned how to engage recruiters with thoughtful questions, and developed strong professional communication skills. She approached career fairs not just as opportunities, but as conversations—mastering the art of authentic networking while building her personal brand on platforms like LinkedIn.

Her efforts quickly translated into real-world success. In Summer 2023, after connecting with a recruiter at the Fall Career Fair, she secured an Electrification and Sales Marketing Internship with ABB in Cary, North Carolina. The following summer, she earned a highly competitive internship with Accenture in New York City, navigating a demanding application process that included multiple interviews and case studies. She credits her previous experience at ABB and continued support from the HCDC for helping her stand out.

By the time she graduated in May 2026, Victoria had secured a full-time return offer from Accenture as a Strategy Analyst in New York City—an achievement that reflects both her dedication and strategic use of available resources.

“The networking skills I built at career fairs have opened doors to so many opportunities, and I know they will continue to help me build relationships and find meaningful projects throughout my consulting career,” she shares. “Thanks to the HCDC’s resources and incredibly supportive team, I’ve grown into a confident, professional communicator—and I’m just getting started.”
