Women's Impact Network and Heebner Career Development Center
The WIN Summer Experience Grant assists undergraduate women identifying and non-binary students in financing underpaid summer experiences in STEM and related to career goals. Grants are given for a variety of summer experiences, ranging from the corporate world to non-profit; in the U.S. and abroad. Summer experiences can be in the form of an internships, research, assistantships and more.
Eligibility: You must be an undergraduate student who will be participating in an underpaid experience, and will still be an enrolled undergraduate student at WPI upon completing your summer experience to qualify. Additionally, experiences must meet the following criteria to be considered for the grant:
- Must be external to WPI
- At least 8 weeks long
- A minimum of 15 hours per week
- Related to personal career development/exploration & STEM
- Must identify as a woman or nonbinary
Directions:
Please follow the below instructions to apply for the WIN Summer Experience Grant-2024:
- Log into your Handshake Account
- In the upper right corner click on 'Career Center'
- Choose the box labeled 'Experiences'
- Select the blue box titled 'Request an Experience'
- Fill out the Form and click 'Submit'
- Follow steps 2 &3 and select 'View Details' on your submitted Experience
- Under the 'Attachments' tab download the waiver, sign it, and reupload.
- Under the ‘Attachments’ tab download the budget worksheet and essay statements, then reupload the document with your answers.
- In addition, upload documentation from the company with the following information:
- An Official Offer Letter
- Job Title
iii. Exact Start date
- Exact End Date
- Salary
- Supervisor (Name and Email)
vii. Detailed Job Description
viii. Complete Company Address
- Confirmation of your Full Time Status
- Please note that if your Offer Letter does not have the requested information, you may email your contact at the company and ask them for it and upload a PDF screenshot of the email conversation to the 'Attachments' section of your submitted Experience
- Reference the 'Comments & Activity' section periodically for updates on missing documentation and the progress of your Experience Request
