Senior Systems Engineer

JETCOOL Technologies is seeking a dedicated, dependable mechanical engineer to lead engineering execution of programs across our core markets. The position will be responsible for the development of hardware systems starting with the development of concepts and taking these concepts through their tollgates all the way to a potential hand-off for production. Successful candidates will be comfortable taking on tasks as an individual contributor as well as working together with the team as required to meet project deadlines. Candidates with more experience may provide technical leadership in small teams executing programs.

Responsibilities
- Apply first principles in fluid dynamics and heat transfer to analyze design concept thermal performance
- Design rigorous experiments to verify product specifications and design features
- Set up and perform experiments to collect empirical data of completed designs
- Develop manufacturable mechanical designs to achieve system interface and structural requirements using SOLIDWORKS CAD
- Assemble engineering drawings and engage with external vendors to procure parts and hardware
- Implement in-house prototyping tools to generate, evaluate, and select concepts
- Candidates with experience may apply analysis and simulation tools (e.g. thermal and structural FEA, CFD) for product development and refinement
- Provide technical expertise and hands on skills for product testing, performance and reliability evaluation.
- Effectively document and communicate results; generate IPs.
- Work closely with engineering leadership to balance business development goals with engineering feasibility
- Candidates with more experience will also be expected to provide technical leadership in the framework of small teams to execute programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering) and 5-7+ years work experience, or similar background, in thermal and / or fluids engineering
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects
- Excellent first principles knowledge in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
- Comfortable interfacing with fabrication partners and suppliers to deliver high quality parts on time
- Demonstrated ability with hands-on builds/projects
- Ability to work independently and on small teams
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS CAD, drawing packages and thermal analysis tools such as CFD, FloTherm, and MATLAB codes.
Bonus Points!
- 5+years of experience in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
- Industry experience in fluid system, compute, or electric vehicle applications
- Experience in providing technical leadership in the framework of small engineering teams
- Experience in production manufacturing techniques, such as injection molding or casting
- Savvy with electronics systems and/or electronics packaging
- Experience with product development cycles involving environmental and reliability test campaigns
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, technology startup
- Industry experience in aerospace/defense, automotive, or data centers
