WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Management Analyst, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
- Planning, scheduling, and conducting projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations; performing analytical studies related to management improvement, productivity improvement, management controls, and long-range planning.
- Developing new or modified work methods, organizational structures, management processes, staffing patterns, procedures, guidelines, and automated work processes; advising managers on implementation of management policies and procedures to accomplish organizational objectives.
- Advising on the interpretation and implementation of new and revised legislation, policies, regulations, and procedures; working with managers and program officials to ensure work is accomplished in adherence to requirements.
- Preparing project papers, staff reports, management summaries, and briefing papers; organizing and delivering briefings to managers to promote understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
GS-09 Minimum Qualifications:
You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
- Participating in program studies to improve the effectiveness of programs and/or the efficiency of the management of operations.
- Preparing materials for workflow and/or operational analysis.
- Preparing and/or delivering briefings to managers on study findings and recommendations.
- Making recommendations for improving workflow and/or operational methods.
OR
Have a master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
Have a combination of education and experience as described above that meets 100% of the requirements.
GS-11 Minimum Qualifications:
You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
- Conducting studies of work processes and procedures to identify issues and recommend improvements.
- Assisting in the development, modification, and/or implementation of policies, operating procedures, to improve operational performance.
- Reviewing reports and/or studies to ensure that objectives have been achieved.
- Preparing and/or delivering briefings to managers on tentative recommendations regarding efficiency in program operations.
OR
Have a PH.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
Have a combination of education and experience as described above that meets 100% of the requirements.
GS-12 Minimum Qualifications:
You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
- Planning and conducting studies of work processes and procedures for organizational programs.
- Developing, modifying, and/or implementing internal operating procedures to support organizational objectives and improve operational performance.
- Reviewing internal processes or procedures to ensure compliance.
- Preparing and/or delivering briefings to managers on study findings, proposing solutions, and recommendations.
