International students may have additional concerns such as understanding the US employment landscape, work-authorization, and visa sponsorship.  We work in partnership with WPI International House to guide you through the internship and job search process. For questions about your visa and/or work authorization (CPT, OPT) contact the International House

  • Handshake:  You can find employers in Handshake sponsoring work authorization for international students by using the  “Will sponsor or doesn’t require US work visa” or “Accepts OPT/CPT” job search filters.
  • GoinGlobal: Check out the H1B Visa /OPT Hub where you can search US employers that have submitted H1B visa applications, plus OPT-friendly employer records and guidelines.
  • CareerShift is a job and internship search tool that aggregates opportunities from multiple sources and provides contact information for alumni and other professionals. International students can use the H1-B Visa Sponsorship filter under Advanced Search to view postings that indicate organizations’ willingness to sponsor visa holders.
  • US Department of Homeland Security – Guidelines for F-1 students looking to intern at an international organization
  • USCIS H-1B Cap – Use this to monitor the USCIS H-1B visa cap. USCIS will allow you to monitor the number of available H-1B visas and provides helpful information.
